Hello Everyone!
We’re back at our Q&A part of the week. You know the drill, send your question to shayla.danielson@gmail.com and next week we will have posted the answer on Wednesday. We want to get questions! Make our day and ask us something. We’ll get back to you on time now that our lives are in control (more or less).
A tip for today:
I read an article about a book called “How Not to Write a Novel” and it pretty much convinced me to read it. But until I do read it I won’t try and sell you on it, since that would be a little much even for me to promote something I haven’t read. But one of the points that the article made was that we need to read novels in the genre that we’re writing. I don’t read action books, so I wouldn’t have a clue when it comes down to writing one. So naturally fiction would be a better choice for me.
Have a good one! We can’t wait to hear from you!

Hey everyone! I wanna say thank you to Bree and Stacy for taking care of the blog while we were gone. It means alot! Anyways, I don't have much time today so I just wanted to re-tell what Bree said on Monday. I Got Tagged!
Oh goodness, I just got tagged by Shelby to participate in the Traveling Smoothie. So, here I go.
I guess I gotta color this plain smoothie and share it with you, then tag somebody else, haha.

Bahahahahahahahahahahaha, this is SO freaking terrible. I haven't used paint in forever and it was being REALLY stupid. So, um...I guess it's a Tropical Smoothie and I tag Audrey from Covered.

We're Back!
Yo!
After an amazing week at Girls Camp Abbi and I are back! It was a ton of fun and we really enjoyed ourselves. We arrived home safely, our only injuries some bug bites and sunburns =) .
I'd like to give some huge thanks to Bree and Stacy, who watched our blog for us while we were gone. They did an AMAZING JOB!!! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! We couldn't have done this without those guys, and they were brilliant.
I have picked up a summer job - detasseling *gag* - so that when I write it will be later in the day but I will write! So please don't loose patience with me, and I will be punctual. Abbi should be right on schedule as usual (she is really pretty cool!) and she'll have some more awesome stuff to share with us.

A poem, a tip, and a prompt ~ Guest Post Stacy
Hello, it's Stacy from http://sweetsgalore.blogspot.com. And I am here today to give a poem, a tip, and a prompt. Also, I'm hosting a contest on my blog, for more info please go here. Well here it goes.
Photos
Photos
A piece
A memory
Stuck forever
In time
Feelings of
Nostalgia
Arouse in
Waves
Inside
Of me
Tears
Or
Smiles
Start to play
As I
Remember
This time
Of place
That has
You.
And a tip that I would highly recommend would be to start thinking in your characters' POV. Just imagine them in some bizarre situation, and just think to yourself, "Okay what would I do if I was my MC?" It just might make your character even more realistic than before.
A prompt: Write about what you would do if you saw zombies and vampires protesting in front of the White House, with signs that say, 'We were once humans too.'
Another prompt would be, what would you put in a strange soup. Try to make the ingredients as inedible as possible, and once you're done write a scene involving that soup.
Well hope these help, and remember keep writing.

Book Review~Uglies~A Guest Post By Bree:)
Hey Everyone! It's Bree<3 I am so so so so so so so so so sorry for not posting Wednesday! I meant too,I even had it almost all written out but....I've decided I have developed a case of writers block.I am having to force myself to write this, even thought I don't want to and I know it sounds so weird.I'm also tired.Swimming.
But I'm not here to tell you about my problems.I'm here to tell you about a book.A very good book that I happen to love!
The book is called Uglies and here is a picture of the book cover-
So what it's about is way far away from the title-but it fits the book perfectly!
So,an ugly is what you are before you turn 15 in Tally's world. When you turn 15 you have a type of surgery done.It is basically where you get you whole outside layer of skin taken off and given new pretty skin.Every flaw is taken away and you look like every other person on the street.Everybody's dream.
Except Tally's friend,Shay.Shay knows something is wrong with it.Like why everyone also acts the same. Why no one breaks any rules-ever.
Soon Shay runs away just before she turns 15.Tally stays, still thinking nothing is wrong. But when she is not given the operation and threatened to never get it she knows something is up.They(the people who run her "town")tell her that if she doesn't find Shay and the people who ran away before her she will never be "pretty".
Does she get the operation?Does she find Shay? What is wrong with the operation?Read the book to find out!
Also, check out my blog(breezybugsblog.blogspot.com) if you like fashion or beauty!

Writing Tips! A Guest Post By Bree!
Hey everyone! It's Bree!<3 Since Shayla and Abbi are off to camp, you will be hearing from me 3 times this week!:)I am so excited!!!
So,today I'm supposed to be doing tips,so I am!I got most of these off of tumblr(who knew they had so much cool stuff on there??!!) and I loved them! So,here ya go!
3.When to end. It’s no good to keep rambling on and on without a purpose. Choose to end the story, or to re-identify the plot.
2.After the beginning of a story comes the infamous middle of the story. Starting strongly with the beginning of the story pulls the readers in, but what about the middle? What should you do in the middle of the book to keep the reader’s attention? Here is a short list of things to keep in mind.

Sorry about doing three instead of the usual one.I couldn't pick just one...and the last picture is a great way to get motivated!!!

3.When to end. It’s no good to keep rambling on and on without a purpose. Choose to end the story, or to re-identify the plot.
- A “sagging middle” means that your writing has an empty feeling and cannot hold your readers attention. This usually happens before the climax of the story, and the plot and motivation is lost. To avoid this problem structure your story before hand. There can never be too much planning, and you can always edit your plans as you go along.
- Remember the four plot progresses when writing a story - the inciting incident, the complication, the crisis/climax, and the resolution.
- Writing aimlessly isn’t always a good thing. Plan out any alternatives that you like. For example, try outlining what it would be like for your characters to walk through a forest vs camping right in the middle of the forest. Good luck writing
2.After the beginning of a story comes the infamous middle of the story. Starting strongly with the beginning of the story pulls the readers in, but what about the middle? What should you do in the middle of the book to keep the reader’s attention? Here is a short list of things to keep in mind.
- Story events - everything happens in the middle of the book. List out your most important events of the story, and make sure you follow through.
- Conflict - if there are no dilemmas, where is the tension of the story? There would be no pull. Make sure your conflict makes the readers think “I wonder what’s going to happen” and then evolve the conflict.
- Characters - time to develop your characters! Relationships, personalities, etc., this is when your characters come alive. Reveal hidden information about your characters. I find the best way to develop characters is through dialogue.
- Setting - the world of the book is as important as the characters. Remember to explore the setting and the effects it has on the plot, characters and problems.

Guest Blogger Book Review~Maximum Ride-The Angel Experiment
Hi everyone! I'm Bree from over here and I'm going to do a book review on the book Maximum Ride-The Angel Experiment by James Patterson.
So,what caught my eye about this book was the cover.I didn't know what it was about at the time I bought it.Yes I read the back, but that doesn't give you any idea of what your about to read.I had a lot of people tell me it was good, too.
The author has so many books out,but this is the only series I've ever read of his,so I suggest not reading the other books.I have heard the others have certain things most kids/teens aren't allowed to read.
So,back to the book.It is about 6 kids living on their own after their guardian, they assume, dies. When they were born, they were taken from their parents and experimented on.They were given avian,or bird, genes.Which led them to each end up with wings.
Now,while they were given avian genes, there was also other babies being given genes to.These babies were given Lupine,or wolf, genes. They were made to wipe out the 6 kids with the special wings,or the Flock. They were called Erasers.
One day, they managed to kidnap the youngest of the flock,Angel. They take her back to the school, the place where they were given the genes, then put in cages like wild animals and kept in a sterile room.
So,how do they rescue her? What do they do next? Read the book to find out.
Now,onto how the book was written. The author goes into extreme detail. It makes you feel like you are in Max's(The leader. Also known as Maximum Ride P.S. It's told from a girls point of view.) head.I felt like I could feel her pain, happiness, confusion and any other emotions she felt.I would really recommend this book to anyone who likes good books and good detail.
